Here are two declinations of the same matte painting . One for a print , the other one for a TV commercial . Red framing in pic A corresponded to the initial piece . It was a photoshop patchwork except the bridge that was modeled and textured by CG artist Julien Roger . A resolution of more than 5000 pixels in width allowed for a 40 X 40 centimeters print . I then enlarged my canva and filled the missing parts with foreground cliffs and rocks . I layered that new composition from foreground to background ( pic B ) and the layers served as a starting point for a camera projection job . In the final result , the projection made possible a slow camera movement inside the canyon ( see pic C and D the relation between CG and matte job ) .
