Here is a very simple task in its approach : " Just make it beautiful ! ". Something matte painters love to hear . The starting point was a color script by Cube Creative artist Tristan Michel so I did my best to respect the described mood but no more constraint . Technically , this is a painted background with various pics and personal brush sets . I just provided a few layers that CG crew would later project on a low poly geometry to obtain a nice parallax effect while the shot camera slowly moves from left to right . In the final shot , the foreground is a full CG element that is not represented here .
