The starting point of that matte painting ( pic A ) was a mood board supplied by the client , describing a city in a surrealistic and color saturated atmosphere . I used Cinema 4D and Photoshop to complete it . It was a new experience to me cause the picture I provided was not supposed to be composited in a post production process but printed on a 8 x 20 meters screen mounted on the set in Singapore , behind the large window of a flat ( pics B , C , D , E ) ! There was no green screen . Actors could directly enjoy the " view " .
