Here is a collaborative work between Rodeo FX matte painter François Croteau ( who began the photo montage ) and I . The shot depicts a plane choregraphy over an american air base through a large camera tilt covering a 27 000 pixels in height background . Certainly the largest file in dimensions I worked on ! It consisted mainly in a photoshop task although the planes on the ground were render pass from a CG asset ( scroll down and have a look at the bottom of the matte painting below left ) . That big background was later reprojected on a simple geometry and rendered with the shot camera in Softimage . Flying CG Mustangs were added by the comper as seen below right in the Quicktime pics .
