This is another example of set extension .The scene describes the attack of the former synagog Hurva ( upper left part of the matte painting , pic A ) during the Israeli-Arabian conflict . The main challenge was the reconstruction of Hurva cause it was was totaly destroyed during the battle . So I had to get in historical researches before creating an accurate replica in Maxon Cinema 4D ( pic B ) . I blended my CG renders with various textures and pics in Photoshop , remaining particularly careful with the transition between the matte painting and the plate ( bottom left ) . Ready for the comp !
